Heather's birthday is July 25. This time of year has it's own special memories as we recall the joy of her birth.
I wanted to give visitors a little insight into events that made up the life of our precious baby girl.

Within hours after she was born, Heather was diagnosed with sleep apnea, which is a condition
where breathing stops during sleep. In a new born this is life threatening because their little systems
are not capable of recovering on their own as efficiently as an adult would, so when breathing
stops, there is a much greater potential that the heart could stop, too.
She was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for five days.
She came home with an apnea monitor which we had to use for almost two months.
From the day she was born, Heather was fighting for life.
Every reflection on any part of her life convicts me. How empty are my complaints in comparison.

No hair cut this year. Sister is growing it longer & will cut it in 2009 on Heather's birthday.
Here's the cake we had that Mom & sister made. It was good!

Sister wrote a bible verse on everyone's napkin.

We had "smiley face" homemade pizza!

Balloons for her grave.

Elizabeth has been growing her hair long for some time. She wanted to cut it & donate it to Locks of Love.
Locks of Love is a public, non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children
under age 18, suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
You can read about them here: Locks of Love website

Wednesday, July 25th, was Heather's birthday & Elizabeth chose this day to have her hair cut, in memory
of her sister. After getting her hair cut we put some balloons on Heather's grave & Mom & Elizabeth made a birthday cake.
